Calling Number Display
Will the service send my telephone number to the caller?
Caller Line Identification (CLI) is data that is automatically generated at the time a call is established and passed through carrier networks. It includes the called party's number, the date and time of the call, the call's duration and routing. CLI facilitates efficient call management, route selection and billing and is passed between carriers to support the operation of carriage services in accordance with the Telecommunications Act 1997 (the Act).
CLI makes possible the provision of a range of products and services to customers, including Calling Number Display and calling name display (both referred to as CND).
The exchange of CLI between carriers however, can also raise risks to personal privacy because of the personal information that is being exchanged. Information about your telephone service number could be collected and retained by parties to which you would rather not provide your number.
CLI is a powerful tool if used properly, however it also raises some complex problems through the risks it poses to personal privacy. For these reasons, by default CLI is not provided on outbound calls.
Enabling Caller Line ID Presentation
Caller Line ID Presentation (CLIP) is available to customer subscribed to business grade plans. The Traditional In-Dial Numbers that can be presented are those that have been provided to you by Mytel.
A small monthly fee is charged in respect of CLIP. To activate CLIP, log into your Mytel members Control Panel.
